Summary of Field Work: |
PEACH deployed a mooring area near Cape Hatteras NC in April 2017 and recovered most of the area in Nov 2018. Four (4) moorings failed to surface and we hope to recover these with the aid of a ROV. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We hope to use Jason, aboard the R/V Thompson, to attempt recovery of the moorings. Two bottom pods are on the upper slope in 200-300 m depths, and two CPIESs are on the seaward side of the Gulf Stream in 2800-4000 m depths. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
Because there is no space for personnel on the cruise we will participate virtually on the recovery dives, hence solid communications allowing video is needed. |
