Summary of Field Work: |
Depth profiles of particulate organic matter concentrations and elemental ratios. We plan to use McClane pumps for high volume filtering. We will sample down to a depth of 1000 m.
We will participate in the BVAL cruise in the Western North Atlantic Ocean in 2021 (run by BATS out of BIOS, Bermuda) and propose to add three ship days. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We need 4 McClane pumps and three shipdays on the Atlantic Explorer to add to the already funded BVAL cruise. |

Optimum Start Date:
|
10/1/2021 |
Dates to Avoid: |
The timeframe is inflexible as we are adding days to an existing cruise (BVAL). If 2021 was impossible, we could also do the cruise in 2022 or 2020. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
NA |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
We are adding days to an existing cruise so the ship and timing are inflexible. However, we are somewhat flexible regarding which year the cruise occurs. |

Important Info on Foreign Research Clearances
|
|
Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
No |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |
Questions about ITAR/EAR regulations?
|
Comments about foreign clearance requirements or description of any other special permitting requirements (e.g., MMPA, ESA, IHA, Marine Sanctuaries, etc.) |
BIOS/BATS already has clearance for the cruise so no need for additional information. This was confirmed with Rod Johnson at BIOS. |
